Less synthetic fertilisers a process that focuses on quality and not quantity means less greenhouse gases and if you buy local organic then win win. Hughesdale Organic food co-op have 5 farms organised to provide a variety of fresh organic produce. They are in the Lilydale area, and between them they grow a wide range of crops including carrots, zuchini, cucumber, tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, pumpkin, kale, squash, spinach, garlic, silverbeet, celery, brocolli, cabbage, potatoes, herbs, eggs, apples, pears, stonefruits, cherries, cauliflower, beetroot, citrus fruits, swedes, lettuce and salad mix.
